happy friday after a not so happy thursday

yesterday was one of those days where i got sucked into the digital world and could not escape. and it brought me low...real low. the kind of day when i decide i don't want to be around people. instead i am going to burrow in at home, order a whole pizza pie and proceed to devour every slice b y  m y s e l f while watching the worst television I can find. do you ever reach a point where you feel so exhausted with life and instead of doing something positive to get out of the slump you drown yourself even deeper into the misery?? oh boy..that was me yesterday. but today i'm back baby! and it is all due to watching this video. this boy's joy is contagious and he dares me to go out and challenge the world. no excuses.

cherry bloosoms + BBG

Took advantage of Saturday's beautiful weather and walked over to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Since we moved to Prospect Heights and expect to become frequent visitors of the garden we went ahead and signed up for a membership. It is so beautiful there right now. The cherry blossoms are in full bloom as well as the Japanese peony trees. G O R G E O U S ! It really is surreal when the wind blows and cherry blossom petals fall like snow...without the cold :) The peony's are also worth a visit. On display are the most luscious colors and the flowers are practically the size of your head.

This kid was happily playing away with little care if he fell into the fountain or not. Seriously had the biggest grin on his face! I love that his mom/babysitter/whoever just grabbed onto his pants and let him go at it. Ahhhh summer.

etsy

I have finally made the plunge into the etsy world and boy is it intimidating! There are so many beautiful products out there that I feel like whatever I put up will just make a little splash and get lost. That might be the case but here is to crossing off a goal for 2012.

Newly added to my etsy shop is a custom designed and letterpressed Valentine's day card. Please excuse the emptiness...photography is a bloody hard part of this whole process and I am not quite satisfied with my results. My goal is to have new items and updates weekly so please check in often!

RIP Steve

"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of other's drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary." —Steve Jobs

What a revolutionary man who left behind an amazing legacy. I want to live my life with as much conviction and passion as he did.

RIP man.

tattoos and such

With the impending big 3-0 coming up in the seemingly near future I've been thinking of doing something really wild to celebrate my youth. I have been raiding image banks for ideas on what I would want PERMANENTLY inked onto my body and it is a tough decision!

Thankfully swissmiss seems to have read my mind and just launched tattly, a line of temporary tattoos by some pretty sweet designers. These are already in my cart for a test run to see if I have the guts to really pull the trigger in the future!

Mind-blowing

SUPAKITCH & KORALIE - VĂ„RLDSKULTUR MUSEET GĂ–TEBORG from elr°y on Vimeo.

This video will blow your mind. I love the fluidity of the strokes they make with marker and paint, I love the color palette, and I love the size of the canvas! Everything is spot on and somehow the artists Supakitch and Koralie make it look effortless. After checking out their sites I realize Supakitch is having an exhibit at the Muriel Guepin gallery in Brooklyn which I will be making my way to this week.
